Dear members of the Tufts community:

As you know, the circumstances related to COVID-19 precluded the university’s holding its traditional Commencement ceremony in Spring 2020.

I’m writing to update you on plans for the university’s recognition of the graduates of the Class of 2020 at an all-university Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 27, 2022. The ceremony will include a processional, the awarding of honorary degrees, a Commencement speaker, and the presentation of the graduates by the dean of each of our schools. The event will be held on the Medford/Somerville campus.

All 2020 graduates of every Tufts school are invited to the Friday morning ceremony. Some schools are also planning school-specific events, whether on May 27 or at another time. Information about those school-specific events will be sent at a later date.

As additional details become available, the Commencement website will post this information about the university- and school-level recognition of the Class of 2020.

I look forward to celebrating the Class of 2020 in May and hope that you will be able to join us as we recognize these graduates.

Best wishes,

Tony Monaco
