May 12, 2021

Dear members of the Tufts community,

Commencement is always the high point of the academic year—the culmination of our students’ intellectual and personal journeys. On May 23, I look forward to celebrating this milestone with the graduates of our Class of 2021.

I encourage you to join us online for the 165th university-wide Commencement ceremony, available for viewing beginning at 9 a.m. EDT on Sunday, May 23. We are particularly excited to welcome lawyer, civil rights advocate, and author Bryan Stevenson as this year’s Commencement speaker. We commend his commitment to the cause of social justice and equity and are proud to award him an honorary degree, along with five other distinguished individuals.

Following the university-wide event and continuing throughout the day, schools and departments will host their own ceremonies, during which individual graduates will be recognized and celebrated. For more details and to access these virtual events, please visit our Commencement website.

We look forward to celebrating our graduates and their academic successes with you on May 23 and everything they will accomplish in the years ahead.

Congratulations, Class of 2021!

Best wishes,

Tony Monaco
