We are pleased to announce that Christine Sanni has been appointed as Vice President for Communications and Marketing. Christine is an experienced professional with a long list of accomplishments that demonstrate her ability to be an innovative and effective leader. She has worked across a wide range of specialty areas in communications and marketing at such institutions as Houghton Mifflin and Harvard University. She also brings to the position her very strong knowledge of Tufts and University Advancement communications initiatives.
Christine will transition from her current role as Executive Director for Advancement Communications and Services on June 22, 2015. In her new position, Christine will oversee the merger of the communications teams of University Relations and University Advancement. The new structure will greatly enhance the communications resources and coordinate the strategic communications for the university with an important focus on the upcoming comprehensive campaign.
Christine will join the President’s senior leadership team and will be involved in decision-making at that level. She will report to Mary Jeka, Senior Vice President for University Relations and General Counsel, and will continue to work closely with Eric Johnson, Vice President for University Advancement.
Christine gained extensive knowledge of higher education communications and marketing at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Boston College before joining Tufts. As a key member of the senior team in University Advancement for the past eight years, she has shown the leadership and vision that align well with Tufts’ values. The multiple promotions she has received during her tenure at Tufts attest to her strategic leadership and willingness to assume new challenges. She created and implemented the first integrated campaign communications plan at Tufts, mounted successful marketing campaigns that engaged Tufts donors and assembled effective teams that are consistently recognized for their high quality.
A true Jumbo, Christine is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Tufts University with a B.A. in English. Christine received a M.A. in Literature at the University of New Hampshire.
