Tufts Support Services (TSS) Launch

December 15, 2014

Dear Tufts Faculty and Staff:

We are proud to announce the launch of Tufts Support Services (TSS) today. A result of two years of assessments, careful design and planning, TSS will reduce the time we spend on basic administrative tasks, allowing us to focus on core activities such as teaching and research.

Starting today, TSS serves as a convenient access point for finance and human resources services. You can contact TSS if you have a question about employee benefits, for instance, if you need to set up a new vendor profile, or if you are not sure whom to call about a human resources or finance-related issue. TSS staff are trained to assist you with such questions, or direct you to someone who can.

We hope you will visit the TSS web portal over the next few days to familiarize yourself with the support services provided by this new center. The portal provides a wealth of information about how to work with TSS, its services, locations and contact information. You can also read about the TSS team, who bring to their roles many years of experience in finance, human resources and service-oriented business processes. They are looking forward to working with the community and will welcome your feedback on how TSS can best support your work.

Today’s launch would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the many people who contributed to the planning and creation of this new organization. In the months to come, many of these same people will work to ensure that TSS meets the university’s need for reliable, high-quality service. Our sincere thanks to every person who helped make TSS a reality.

The launch of TSS is an important milestone in the Tufts Effectiveness in Administrative Management (TEAM) initiative, a university-wide effort to ensure Tufts’ long-term sustainability. By allocating our limited resources thoughtfully and efficiently, TEAM helps ensure that Tufts will remain a leader in academic excellence, innovation, and active citizenship for generations to come.

Finally, we are grateful to the entire Tufts community. Thank you for your participation in this important effort.

Sincerely,

Anthony P. Monaco
President
