December 26 Announcement

Dear Colleagues:

This week we celebrate Thanksgiving. We have much to be grateful for at Tufts: wonderful students, excellent faculty, dedicated staff, involved alumni and many friends who believe in and support our mission. I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving and ask you to join me in a moment of thanks for our special community.

The holidays are a time of joy, a time to be together with family and friends. I have decided to give Tuesday, December 26, 2006 as a bonus day off. I know how precious your time is, and how much of it you give to Tufts throughout the year. Please enjoy the bonus day and know that you have my thanks for all that you do for our community.

As always with any complex institution, some staff may be required to work on December 26 due to necessary services. Also we have union contracts that stipulate holidays, and we must honor them. Supervisors will be in touch with those who need to come in that day. I appreciate your understanding.
