Holiday Bonus Days

Dear Staff Colleagues:

Now that the academic year is well underway, many of you are beginning to make plans for the winter holidays. We all look forward to time with family and friends after a busy fall semester. While hard work is the foundation of Tufts? excellence, we all need to balance work with time off for renewal. Accordingly, I am pleased to announce that this year the university will give all staff both Wednesday, December 26, and Monday, December 31, 2007, as bonus days off. Consider these days off an early holiday present.

These bonus days will apply to all Tufts staff. The provision of necessary services will require some staff to work on December 26 and 31. Supervisors will be in touch with those of you who need to come in those days, and will determine whether you can identify two other days to take as bonus days or will receive comparable pay. I appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

The quality of our teaching and research is intimately related to the quality of our staff, and I am truly proud of all you do. I hope that these extra days off will allow you to plan for an especially pleasant holiday break.
